The Heat & Glo SL-9X is a 42-inch direct-vent gas fireplace designed to combine substantial heating capacity with a slim, space-saving profile. This configuration pairs reflective black glass refractory with a hand-painted Birch log set, creating a contemporary fireside appearance with distinctive light-colored logs against a dark, reflective background. LED-illuminated embers enhance the visual depth of the flame presentation, while the expansive viewing area makes the fireplace a striking feature in living rooms, family rooms, and other residential spaces.

Designed for Natural Gas, the SL-9X delivers a heat input range of 18,000–35,000 BTU per hour. Its IntelliFire Touch ignition system and RC400 touchscreen remote provide convenient control of fireplace operation. The GFK-160A variable-speed blower helps circulate warm air, while battery backup offers additional operating flexibility during power interruptions. The fireplace also includes ceramic viewing glass, a gas flex connector with shut-off valve, and a junction box. Top- or rear-vent configurations provide installation flexibility when designed according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

The SL-9X-G-BIR combines the SlimLine X series’ enhanced log detailing and illuminated ember effects with a reflective black glass interior and Birch log styling. A compatible decorative front is required to complete the installation and is sold separately. Front styles include Arcadia, Chateau Forge, Clean Face ClearVue, Firescreen, and Halston, subject to model compatibility. Installation must follow the manufacturer’s approved venting, framing, clearance, and gas-connection instructions.
