The Heat & Glo SL-5X is a 32-inch direct-vent gas fireplace designed to combine traditional fireside warmth with contemporary styling and a space-saving profile. This configuration pairs fade-resistant reflective black glass refractory with a Birch log set, creating a striking contrast between the light-colored logs and dark, reflective firebox interior. Five high-definition ceramic logs, ceramic viewing glass, and LED-illuminated embers contribute to a realistic flame presentation that complements modern, transitional, and traditional residential interiors.

Designed for Natural Gas, the SL-5X-G-BIR delivers a heat input range of 14,500–27,500 BTU per hour. IntelliFire Touch ignition and the RC400 touchscreen remote provide convenient control of fireplace operation. The GFK-160A variable-speed blower helps circulate warm air, while battery backup provides additional operating flexibility during power interruptions. The appliance also includes a gas flex connector with shut-off valve, a junction box, external air-shutter adjustment, and approved top- or rear-vent connection options.

The SL-5X-G-BIR combines the slim SlimLine 5X design with distinctive Birch logs and a reflective black glass interior. Its compact depth allows greater flexibility in rooms where installation space is limited. A compatible decorative front must be selected separately to complete the installation; the black front is an available finish, subject to the selected front style and compatibility.
