Description
The Heat & Glo SL-9X is a 42-inch direct-vent gas fireplace designed to deliver a generous viewing area and substantial heating capacity while maintaining a slim installation profile. Its reflective black glass refractory creates a dark, contemporary firebox interior that enhances the apparent depth of the flames and complements modern, transitional, and upscale residential interiors. Five high-definition ceramic logs, ceramic viewing glass, LED-illuminated embers, and a glowing ember bed contribute to an inviting fireside presentation.
Designed for Natural Gas, the SL-9X has a rated input range of 18,000–35,000 BTU per hour. Its IntelliFire Touch ignition system and RC400 touchscreen remote provide convenient control of fireplace operation. A GFK-160A variable-speed blower assists with warm-air circulation, while battery backup provides additional operating flexibility during power interruptions. The fireplace also includes a gas flex connector with shut-off valve, a junction box, and external air-shutter adjustment. Top- or rear-vent configurations allow installation flexibility when designed according to the manufacturer’s approved venting requirements.
The SL-9X-IFT-G is the Natural Gas configuration with reflective black glass interior panels. Its decorative exterior front is required to complete the installation but is sold separately, allowing the finish and appearance to be selected to suit the room. Compatible options listed by the distributor include Arcadia, Chateau Forge, Clean Face, and Halston fronts in applicable finishes. Professional installation and compliance with the manufacturer’s clearance, framing, and venting instructions are essential.
