Description
The Continental CRD2 is a compact direct-vent natural gas insert designed to transform an existing masonry or compatible fireplace opening into an efficient gas-heating appliance. Its 27-inch-class format is suited to fireplace retrofit applications, while the maximized viewing area provides a broad view of the flame and log set. Continental’s current product literature identifies the CRD2NE as the natural gas electronic-ignition configuration with up to 21,000 BTU.
The CRD2NE includes a realistic split-oak log set, integrated ember-bed lighting, a standard blower, and a PF2 remote. Electronic ignition uses battery backup, allowing the appliance to operate during power interruptions. Continental also specifies mandatory backerplates and faceplates, with several black configurations available, plus optional MIRRO-FLAME™ porcelain reflective, Westminster™, and Newport™ panels.
