Description
The Continental CBX42 is a 42-inch traditional-looking direct-vent natural gas fireplace designed to provide a broad view of the flame and log set while delivering supplemental heat. Its full-width firebox and hand-painted PHAZER™ logs create a classic fireplace appearance, while the electronic ignition, battery backup, included remote control, and NIGHT LIGHT™ add modern operating convenience.
The current Continental product page lists the CBX42 at up to 26,000 BTU. The manufacturer’s January 2024 specification sheet, however, lists the CBX42NTREA at 30,000 BTU, so there is a documented specification discrepancy between the current product page and the technical sheet. For the primary catalog BTU field, the current Continental product page figure of 26,000 BTU is used.
The CBX42 supports direct venting with top or rear configurations, using 5-inch and 8-inch venting. Optional heat management can be used to reduce clearances to combustibles, and Continental offers decorative panels, media kits, a 3-inch black bevelled trim, and an optional blower.Â
